It is located about an hour and a half’s distance from Lonavla and happens to be a popular trekking region in the southern part of India.

The Andharban Jungle Trek is located a set an altitude of 2160 feet in Tamhini Ghats and the entire trek time is about 5-6 hours to cover 13 kilometers of the trail. It is a relatively easy trail so first-time trekkers are also welcome. 06-Jan-2020

Andharban Jungle Trek known by its name, means a dark dense forest. It is a gradual descent trek, where you are already on height and you will descend till the end. It is one of the most beautiful treks and has lots of things to explore. We will be walking on a ridge offering an awesome view of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira Dam, and the mountain ranges of Tamhini Ghat.

The same valley where is the origin of the Kundalika River famous for its white water river rafting.
You will then reach a remote yet beautiful village named ‘Hirdi’. It is the only village that you will come across throughout your Andharban trek and you can arrange for food from locals here. You can stop for a refreshment break/lunch here before starting to descend towards the Konkan route to reach Bhira. This is the valley that is the origin of the Kundalika River, famous for its white-water river rafting and other adventure activities.

The second half of the trek is roughly 4-5 km and you will reach the base village in no time while trekking on a flatter surface and enjoying scenic views of the backwaters of Bhira dam.
