OPEN WATER DIVER (OWD) COURSE : CERTIFICATION COURSE

Overview

This is a 3-day course, which upon successful completion, qualifies a student to dive to a maximum depth of 18m with a certified buddy. It comprises of about 6 hours of theory and 6 hours of pool training, followed by four dives in the ocean, with an instructor, over the next 2 days.

Theory classes start around 8:30am and end around 4:00pm depending upon the speed of your learning. Diving days start at 7:30am and end around 3:00pm. You can choose to complete the theory learning online, at your own convenience.

Please note, that children, between 10-14 years old, earn a Junior Open Water Certification and must always dive with an adult certified diver or a professional.

Pre-requisites:

Participant must be at least 10 years old and in general good health.
Participant must be able to demonstrate that they can comfortably maintain themselves in water by completing a 10 minute swim/float without using any swim aids.
Participant must be able to demonstrate a 200 m surface swim or 300 m swim with mask, fins and snorkel.
